FORZA HORIZON: VEHICLE ILLUMINATION
After completing the vehicle research, I then had to undertake the creation of all vehicle illumination. Every car required its own bespoke set of exterior lights.
Utilising the acquired research, flair textures were attached to nodes and manually placed onto the vehicle in its 3D Studio Max scene.
In parallel, areas on the vehicles' headlights and taillights required changes to their material configuration, allowing emissive textures.
The vehicle was then integrated into the game, with fine adjustments made to the vehicle’s flairs and emissive textures via debug mode. This was then saved as an XML file for any future changes as required.
The finished vehicles in game are in some cases up to seven iterations of vehicle lights. This task was monumental and for all intents and purposes, I completed this work to the highest standard.
