The Podcasts.

Like everyone else in any creative sector, we are making podcasts and these are the new flagship titles for my Production Company, Mudpie.

So in that spirit, this section acts as a preview for the feature presentation.

Enjoy!

 IMGAME

The premise for ‘IMGAME’ is simple, Jon and myself go through the Top 100 Metacritic Games of All Time and review them, in often comical and increasingly bizarre ways.

We speak to the creators, characters from the game, and associated people in giving these games a new perspective. They didn’t ask us to and that was probably for the best

More episodes are planned with a radical change to aspects of the format in a shorter, more laser-focused episode with the same kind of anarchic humor we enjoy, with a change to the segment order and further ideas for additional content in each episode.

Mutant Content

To co-inside with IMGAME we are looking to establish a comedy troupe of writers and performers for a hybrid format sketch comedy team.

We plan on making dark comedic content based around pop culture that is recorded live and then distributed like a podcast,

That’s the plan anyway, and a plan that is gaining traction. I will be more forthcoming with news of our progress but this is going to be great fun!

Tigers to Lions

A personal story from my past.

Though I haven’t really made work that is intrinsically personal or at least that is listed on here aside from an occasional blog about aspects of my life, there is and has been a burning desire to write about a man, of whom, I have no memory.

My Grandfather, Arthur James Parker.

My Grandfather, Arthur James Parker.

Arthur James was a Leicestershire man, born and bred along with his brother George. Both of these men enlisted into the service at the start of the Second World War.

Apparently, they received better pay.

Within the family we have distinctive pieces of his war record, passed down by hearsay regarding what he went through and more importantly fought through, to survive. Confirmed with the Leicestershire Tigers Regimental Museums’ own public records.

Of all the tales told, the complete picture is elusive aside from one definable detail.

My grandfather fought ALL of the King’s enemies in his campaigns and lived.

He was not alone.

Truck maintenance training in Ceylon.

Truck maintenance training in Ceylon.

Because of this, and because he lacks the agency to tell us the truth of his experiences I plan to make a podcast that details his campaigns, but more specifically, uses the recordings of men in the same theatres of war, describing the experience across many campaigns of the war.

I seek to establish these lost connections, to describe in detail from the commonwealth voices their journeys and ultimately the cost.

Maybe I can get a clearer picture of the man, maybe the mysteries of his survival against the odds will become more illusive.

Whatever it takes, it’s a podcast I intend to make.
